Hello All,
I would like to ask your knowledge to get proposal for steel with these properties:
- yield strenght min 400 MPa
- tensile strenght min 500 MP
- elongation min 20%
- CVN-60°C min 20J
- CEV max 0,50 or max 0,60
- it should be for castings with wall thickness 50-100 mm
- it should be done without LF or VD(VOD) - only EAF or induction furnace
- heat treatment N, N+T or Q+T
I found out G14NiCrMo10-6 (1.6779, SEW685) but CEV is quite high. Russian steel 08G2DNFL(GOST21357) would pass perfectly but there is addition of yttrium or cerium and I dont know how to get it inside steel.
Any idea?

I just had normalized A588 structural shapes tested at -56F. We normalized at 1700F for approximately 20 minutes and had average results of 45ft-lbs up to 142ft-lbs on some bigger shapes. I know this is not exactly what you're looking for but it might work at -60.

The A352 LC2-LC4 tip is interesting. Does anybody have experience how much more than min 275 MPa (40ksi) YS could be? And for what wall thicknesses?
It looks like LC2,LC3 and LC4 are similar to G9Ni14 according to EN 10293 and that steel has YS min 360 MPa for t<35 mm.
