Contact between bolt shank and hole

Contact between bolt shank and hole

(OP)
Dear all,

I am trying to model the bolted connection between two pipes with friction contacts involved. I am a new one in contact analyse. I am modeling the contact between two end plates, contacts between head, nut and end plates and contact between the shank of the bolt and hole.

First one seems to be working nicely, second one with small penetration (please see the attached image on the left) and the third one does not work at all (see the right of image).

There are two load steps: first for pre-tension, the second for loading itself.

Will be someone so kind to help me with the settings of contact parameters to achieve convergence with acceptable small penetration ?

Any suggestion are highly appreciated.

I attached my source file as well smile, hope some one will not get a headache from it smile ...

Thank you.
