Anchoring of Air Receiver Tank

Anchoring of Air Receiver Tank

Anchoring of Air Receiver Tank

(OP)
Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right forum, but you never know until you ask!

I have to specify bolt hole locations to anchor a concrete tank to a cement pad foundation.

Is there a minimum distance I must go from the edge of the foundation to the anchor bolt? If so, is there a standard I can refer to for confirmation?

RE: Anchoring of Air Receiver Tank

ACI 318 Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete and Commentary

Appendix D - Anchoring to Concrete will be where you want to look.

However, if you have never designed concrete structures before, you are in for an uphill struggle. I would recommend finding a colleague who has done it before to assist.

RE: Anchoring of Air Receiver Tank

Good rule-of-thumb is to never get closer to the edge of the slab than the embedment depth of the anchor bolt.

RE: Anchoring of Air Receiver Tank

You have a concrete air receiver??

You would get more traction probably in structural engineering other or civil engineering other.

Min 150mm and inside of any re bar is a good start point.

My motto: Learn something new every day

Also: There's usually a good reason why everyone does it that way

RE: Anchoring of Air Receiver Tank

I have never seen a concrete air receiver. Send us a picture. As far as anchoring, the manufacturer will probably have a brochure with related specifications.

RE: Anchoring of Air Receiver Tank

Oh come on, it was obviously a "slip of the tongue". There is no such thing as a cement pad foundation either.

Concrete is made from cement, aggregate, and sand.

Not a concrete receiver - my apologies, that was definitely a slip of the tongue!

And thanks for the correction bimr!
