Normalized Mode Shapes

Normalized Mode Shapes

I am working on a spatial vibration project in which I need to extract the resultant normalized mode shapes in vector form. (e.g for a system with 6 D.O.F a eigenvector with 6 components.) Is there any option in ANSYS to extract the mode shapes in such format?

RE: Normalized Mode Shapes

Hi,

The normal behaviour of a modal analysis in Ansys is to normalize the results to the mass matrix. So, your displacements are the the eigenvectors. Check this thread on xansys.org:

RE: Normalized Mode Shapes

Hi,

While specifying your modal analysis options by MODOPT command you must enter Nrmkey equal ON.

MODOPT, Method, NMODE, FREQB, FREQE, PRMODE, Nrmkey, , Cekey

I hoe it helps you.
