Corrosion of shells

Corrosion of shells

Corrosion of shells

(OP)
Hello,

I have problem with simulation of steel corrosion ( for shells, tanks etc.) in Abaqus.
How I can model corrosion as a function of time? Is there any material wchich can simulate corrosion propagation in shell.
Or how can I create material with thickness (or Young module) as function of time ?

Thanks for help,
Kate

Young module can be controlled during simulation with field variable.
For details see Abaqus documentation: Abaqus Analysis User's Manual, 33.6.1 Predefined fields

Bartosz
