RE: Does SAP check for Weak Beam - Strong Column?

Hi,
Strong column-weak beam need to be checked in case of seismic design, the purpose is expected plastic hing occur on beam not on column. Sap 2000 have checked it if you assign the framing type to DCH,DCM (EURO CODE), SMF,IMF(AISC).

Figured it out, yes SAP addresses weak beam and strong column. If weak beam - strong column is not addresses, SAP lets you know by providing the following message in the design process "Beam/Column capacity ratio exceeds limit."
