How to assign TMD to structure on SAP/Etabs

(OP)
Hi. I need to assign TMD to my structure. I have modeled the structure in sap/etabs, but i dont know how to assign the tmd.

I know it has something to do with link properties. But i dont know exactly how to do it. Also how to add the mass? Using additional point mass?

And should the tmd element be drawn by choosing NONE as the elemnt?
Thank you very much. This is really important.
I really appreciate it.

RE: How to assign TMD to structure on SAP/Etabs

hi!

use a two joint link element. There is no need to use a frame element for it, just a 2joint link. Bottom joint should be connected to the structure either directly or via constrains. The upper joint should be free. Assign joint mass to upper joint. Assign link properties for directions of motion (nonlinear). run nonlinear analyses and it should work. Time history analysis shows the most spectacular results.
