HEC-HMS - Dam Breach Modelling - Error 40202: Root is not bracketed in Brents algorithm.

Hello,

I'm trying to run my sunny day breaches using version 3.5 of HEC-HMS. For a few of my runs I'm encountering the following error messages:
ERROR 40202: Root is not bracketed in Brents algorithm.
Lower bound: -1.4015461644160703E20 Lower bound limit: -1.7E308
Upper bound: 141.51966327346068 Upper bound limit: 1.7E308
ERROR 40243: Could not compute water elevation for reservoir "TSF".
ERROR 40261: Reservoir routing failed at simulation time "1 January 2015, 02:02:10" for reservoir "TSF".

While banging my head against my desk trying to figure out why this is happening I noticed that by simplifying the stage storage curve to only two rows it completes the run. If I simplify the stage storage to a row for every 5 m of elevation about half of the runs don't error.

Has anybody come across this issue before and if so how did you rectify it?

regards,

Andrew Brown

I've ended up modifying the stage storage and it now works.
