Torsion in beam

Torsion in beam

Torsion in beam

(OP)
My question is about torsion in beams connecting to slab.Asit is known as per ACI,longitudinal and tranverse reinforcement shall be designed if torsion is greater than Tcr.
On the other hand,if a beam connects to slab، torsion can be released in beam and slab shall be designed for greater positive moment.ACI calls it compatiility torsion.torsional reinforcement shall be designed for Tcr.is it ignorable?

RE: Torsion in beam

torsion as the result of an analysis and compatibility torsion are two different items, please take the time to review compatibility torsion.

The slab effect on a beam is torsion is not the same. The slab will increase the strength of the beam depending on this depth according to Research by Warner & Ragan, Yew-Chaye Loo et al. I would recommend reviewing these resources and then reviewing your original problem.
