Manufacturing template units don't match model error

Manufacturing template units don't match model error

Manufacturing template units don't match model error

(OP)
I'm using NX9 and have a model with units in inches and when I do File/New/Manufacturing tab/Machinery (Express) template with inches as units, I get an error that the template units don't match the part template. If I select General Setup instead of Machinery (Express) then it works fine. Is there a fix for this? Can I just use General Setup and then change it to Machinery (Express) afterwards? If I start with a part in metric and then select the metric Machinery (Express) template, it works fine.

RE: Manufacturing template units don't match model error

This sounds like you have a template part in the wrong folder.
Has somebody been customizing your system?

To check this, look at your syslog (File > Help > Syslog) to see where the system is looking for inch templates.
For example:
UGII_CAM_TEMPLATE_PART_ENGLISH_DIR D:\Program Files\Siemens\NX 9.0\mach\resource\template_part\english\

Now go to that folder, and open these parts with File > Open, and make sure they are inch units:
Machinery_Express.prt
Machinery_Express_target.prt
Machinery_Exp.prt

I think I got it sorted out. I had another part open that was metric, and had it in Manufacturing with a metric template. It seems that trying to load the inch template on another part caused the conflict. I closed the other part and got the inch template to work.
