Solidworks 2014 jumping dimensions

Solidworks 2014 jumping dimensions

Hi,

I have a few users commenting about adding dimensions to a drawing and as they place them they will jump to a different location.

Once you click the green check mark to get out of the dimension mode the dimensions can be placed.

I have read threads about this and most were vauge and I have unchecked a few items in the system options per the threads.

Who is the Master out there who has the answer about this.

Thank you,

Jeff

RE: Solidworks 2014 jumping dimensions

I have not seen this issue. We have approx. 30 users.
Can you show a screen shot of what it's doing?

To save time & repetition can you list what you have tried?

RE: Solidworks 2014 jumping dimensions

Tools>
System options>
Document Properties> Drafting Standard> Dimensions

Near the bottom uncheck "Center between extension lines"

Save the drawing template file. (if you don't then it will go back to snapping to the center)

OR check (disable note/dimension inference)

I have never attached anything before to this site so I hope you get the screen shot for I clicked on the "Click here to upload your file to engineering.com"

RE: Solidworks 2014 jumping dimensions

Go to Tools > Options > System Options > Drawings and deselect Reduce spacing when dimensions are deleted or edited...
Also when placing dimensions, deselect the Rapid dimensioning option.
