Venting requirement in Appendix F - API 650

Venting requirement in Appendix F - API 650

Venting requirement in Appendix F - API 650

(OP)
Dear Tank Builders,

I noted that the venting requirement in Appendix F tank still addressed till API 650 - November 1998.

But in API 650 - addendum 2 November 2001 till the latest edition the requirement of venting for Appendix F tank is deleted.

Is there any specific reason ?

RE: Venting requirement in Appendix F - API 650

It is an "Oops". Go to API-2000, that is the 'motherhood' of Atmospheric Storage Tank venting requirements.

RE: Venting requirement in Appendix F - API 650

There are some venting requirements in the body of the 650 standard as well.

Duwes6,

It is correct for venting requirement API 650 shall refer to API 2000. It is stated in paragraph 5.8.5.

JStephen,

It is correct there is other paragraph states about venting requirement in API 650 like paragraph. 5.8.5.

But my question is why in Appendix F this requirement is deleted. It is stated F.2 Venting (deleted).

In API 650 - 1998 there is paragraph F.7.7. stating "Venting shall be provided in accordance to API 2000 ......"

But this paragraph is erased in addendum 2 November 2001.

Off course we will not think that venting is not required for appendix F tank.

Maybe they delete this requirement to avoid duplication with other paragraph ?
