How to show same detail view with multiple instances

How to show same detail view with multiple instances

How to show same detail view with multiple instances

(OP)
Hi All
I am using NX 6, i am facing one problem while doing drafting , i want to add detail view (not a section view) in multiple instances, but am unable to give.
Example: If i create Deatil A in one place, i want to create deatil A in another two places because profile/operation are same.

Kindly help me to solve this.

Edit -> View -> Move/Copy View isn't working for you?

or click on the view -> copy -> paste

RE: How to show same detail view with multiple instances

Copying detail A multiple times will result in "Detail B", "Detail C", etc, which, I assume, is undesired. If you are working to a particular drafting standard, you will need to check to see if it is acceptable to have multiple detail views with the same letter. You could turn off the view labels and create your own manually to fudge the display. However, manual edits such as these are generally frowned upon (especially by other users that need to maintain your drawing), even if technically allowed by the standard.

RE: How to show same detail view with multiple instances

In situations like this we usually just create one detail view and place a note next to it showing how many times the particular features are repeated in the model; something like "X 3" or "3 PLACES" in your case.

RE: How to show same detail view with multiple instances

I was going to suggest the same. "3X" should be added to the detail view label regardless of how you define the instances.
When I have had to deal with this situation (and similar features exist which could cause confusion), rather than spending time trying to find a cleaner method (deadlines, etc) I have created the ghost views, edited the boundaries and edited the callout label annotations to match that of the initial detail. This can still cause future confusion when the drawing is edited by others. I too would like to learn of a cleaner method if one exists.

RE: How to show same detail view with multiple instances

I don't think the issue is the hole callout. Consider features that require extensive detailing that appear in multiple places.
