PSV outet line Size change

(OP)
Hi Everyone and Happy New year.

We are currently trying to re-route a set of PSVs outlets from the Incinerator's line to the flare line. The outlets sizes vary between 4" and 12 " and the flare header is 20". From a constructability point of view, we would like to use a 36" line which is already located on the pipe rack and isolated (was part of a decommissioned unit). The configuration would be as follow:
PSV outlet line 12" connected to the 36" line which will be connected via a reducer to a 16" Tap on the 20" flare header. My question is: would the outlet of the PSV connected to a larger pipe then a smaller one represent a problem ?

Thank you

Best regards
Sam

RE: PSV outet line Size change

If the back pressure of the configuration does not exceed the back pressure limitations of the PSV, no.

Good luck,
Latexman

Technically, the glass is always full - 1/2 air and 1/2 water.

Thank you Latexman.
