How to turn dimension back to block?

How to turn dimension back to block?

How to turn dimension back to block?

(OP)
Hey,

Hope someone can help me with this one, cus its driving me crazy.

Im using ACAD 14 at work and now am editing an old file probably done with an older version of Autocad (maybe 10 or 11) circa 1990. Now everytime I use the dimension command DIM or go to the dimension pull down menu and click on linear dim etc., and then choose the points to dimension, the dimension text would not apear immediately (as usual), but rather another line of question would ask what text i would like to include. By hitting enter the proper dimension comes out.
Then if i would want to erase this dimension i would have to click each of its lines individually as it is somehow not blocked! ...

How do i change this so that its works the same old way?

thanks
Daniel Dorall

RE: How to turn dimension back to block?

Sounds like your DIMASO is off.

type DIMASO
set it to 1

That should fix the exploded dims.
The text sounds like a different item or maybe not.
Try that and let me know. It might be a setting in the dimstyle.

later guy.

R.
