In one of our project, we require 2" Ball valve with A 352 LCB as specified by the client. But vendor is proposing the A 350 LF2 saying that forge is better than cast. Is it true for this case. Valve will be used for Propane liquid.

Please review the applicable material specifications to confirm chemical composition, strength properties and impact values at the desired design temperature.

Yes, I always prefer a forged valve than casted valve.
1-1/2" valve typically supplied in forged condition, 2" and above supplied in casted condition.
But if can get forged valve size 2" and above is better.

Why it is standardize that valve above 2" shall be of casting, is there any technical reason or it is not economical to produce the forged valve above 2".

Your Client expects castings to be cheaper than forgings. While the forged valve body is superior to the cast valve body, it's price may be higher and either can provide acceptable service. If there is no increase in costs or the valve is unavailable in a casting, purchase the forged valve and contact your Client with an RFI proposing the purchase of the forged valve.
