NX8.5 delete sketch dimension
NX8.5 delete sketch dimension
(OP)
The company that I am at has auto dimensioning turned on for sketching.
Some dimensions were placed that I do not want, but cannot delete them when editing the sketch.
How do I delete a sketch dimension in NX8.5 ?

If so, just ignore it and place the dimension(s) that you want; the conflicting/duplicate auto dimensions will disappear automatically leaving only the ones necessary to fully constrain the sketch.
When 'auto dimensioning' first appeared I disliked it and turned it off. A while later, I decided to give it another try; now I consider it a useful tool.

I almost hated it in the beginning, I gave it a second chance and now I love auto dimensioning.

With that in mind, the way I've come to use it is that, first, it's OFF by default, but if I'm creating a complex sketch and after I've added all of my desired constraints and dimensions, particularly those that I consider the 'design intent', and there are still some degrees of freedom left and it's not obvious how one would finish the model or else it's not really critical how it's done just that you'd like it to be fully constrained, I THEN toggle on Auto Dimensions to quickly see what at least one solution is going to be. I can either use those new constraints by simply double-clicking them and accepting the values or I can use them as hints as to how I might go about finishing the task myself.
Anyway, that's one approach which I've found productive and which takes advantage of the strengths of Auto Dimensioning without it becoming a bit intrusive when it's really not needed or at least when it wouldn't be appreciated.

We are still running NX6 globally (I hate to say).... and I cannot wait until we are able to roll out NX8.5.3.3 paired with TC8.3.3.6 in the very near future... I intend on using this as a stepping stone to allow users to learn new NX functionality before I drop the ribbon on them as well with NX10 and TC9/10
