applying the results from odb file to only one part.

Hello Guys,
I have three parts in my model on which I am doing my thermal analysis. I need to employ the temperature data from the odb file to do the stress analysis. However, I am interested only in one part to carry out my stress analysis.
I kept the names of the sets, surfaces etc. same for both stress and thermal analysis. while defining the "predefinited field" in stress analysis I chose only the part that I am interested in and used the odb file (from thermal analysis). The simulation runs but it doesn't get the temperature data. Any suggestions/comments?
