Split an edge?

Split an edge?

Split an edge?

(OP)
Hey all.

I'm doing som analyzing in Ansys for my thesis and have a little question. I have an imported .igs file in Ansys. In want to select an edge in a simple hole in this model for a contact and I only want to choose half of the edge of the circular hole. In the hole i can select two edges, the semi-circles that these form, the problem is though that the "split" is at wrong place.

So i'm just wondering if it's possible to split this edge so i can select two quarters of the circle instead and thereby get the part of the edge i want selcted.

Hope you'll understand what i mean. It might be a simple question but I'm not so experienced with Ansys and I tried googling.

RE: Split an edge?

Hi,

Are you using workbench? In that case use virtual topology and split the line inside the mechanical application. If you are using ansys classic, you can use boolean operations and split your solid with the working plane.

Hope this helps.

petb.
