Single Profile for revolved body using section curve?

Single Profile for revolved body using section curve?

Single Profile for revolved body using section curve?

I would like to get a cross section of a turned or revolved body, but only get one section curve. Right now I am using the section curve command with NX 8 and for a revolved body the plane intersects the body in two spots. I only need one profile of the body not two. I did extract bodies and trimmed them, but the problem is that I have extra features and bodies that can get messy. I would like a simpler solution. I typically wouldn't care about this, but it's the people I work with.

RE: Single Profile for revolved body using section curve?

Is this for a drawing view?

If so, try changing the view boundary to manual rectangle and window around the section of interest.

unfortunatley not. The people people I work with need to export the curves in modeling to a different program and don't want to see extra curves.

RE: Single Profile for revolved body using section curve?

Cut the section and delete the curves you don't want.

RE: Single Profile for revolved body using section curve?

Extrude a line such that you have a face which is big enough and only intersects the piece you want, then use Intersection curve instead of section using a plane.
