LEAK TEST RECORDS

LEAK TEST RECORDS

(OP)
Does B31.3 specify that leak testing records differentiate a unit of measure, psi or mpa and if so where is that located. Can't seem to put my finger on it.

RE: LEAK TEST RECORDS

no, but I doubt that mpa is appropriate for anything except yield strength of steel or concrete.

you must get smarter than the software you're using.

RE: LEAK TEST RECORDS

Errr,, "differentiate a unit of measure" - in the context of your headline what exactly does this mean??

My motto: Learn something new every day

Also: There's usually a good reason why everyone does it that way

RE: LEAK TEST RECORDS

Thanks for the replies, simple put --- on the test record(sheet) if the test pressure is 450 psi would entering just 450 be okay? B31.3 - 345.2.7(c)it requires test pressure,

RE: LEAK TEST RECORDS

2
450 is just a number, 450 psig is a pressure.

RE: LEAK TEST RECORDS

B31.3 doesnt care whats on there, as long as it's according Code. As1gibson mentioned, youll have a hard time explaining your AI or whoever that you applied 450 to the pipe spool. 450 ducks sitting on the spool releasing dumb? or 450 MPa, ie 450 N per square millimeter, during the test?
