Upheaval Buckling Calculation

Hi All,
I need some guidance on how to calcualte the available downward force to maintain the pipe in position per OTC 6335 by Palmer.
Equation 12 of OTC 6335 by Palmer gives the value for required download force.

My question is how to calculate the available downward force to compare the results with and make a judgement.

RE: Upheaval Buckling Calculation

There are several soil models that can be used, the most common being Schaminee or Pedersen. The applicable equation also depends on whether you have sand or clay soils

Thanks RandomAxe for the info... will check the report.
