Import NX drawings

Import NX drawings

Import NX drawings

(OP)
Good morning,

I have some drawing formats that I created in NX6 that I would like to use in Solidworks. When I try to open the NX .prt file in Solidworks, I get a "Could not find Parasolid data in UGII file" message. The files have no solid bodies or other part data, just the drawing formats in the drawing portion of the file. What am I doing wrong? I would hate to have to redraw the borders if I can just open or import them. I am using Solidworks 2014 x64 Edition on a PC running Windows 7 Professional.

Thanks!!

Al

RE: Import NX drawings

I think that is a part file.
You may need to export as DXF, then open DXF in SolidWorks.

Rats! I was afraid of that. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it!

Al

PS
So if I wanted to import the model and drawing from NX into Solidworks, I would have to export the drawing into DXf and import it separate from the model?

Thanks again!!

RE: Import NX drawings

I think that's what you may have to do.
