Hydraulic fittings

Hydraulic fittings

(OP)
Hi All,

I am trying to design some new hydraulic tools where pressure will range from 1000 psi to 15000 psi. I am familiar with Swagelok and Parker. My question is what fitting standard should I stick to for my Marine and offshore products? I want to stick to one commonly used and available product. Should I go with JIC or NPT or BSP fittings? The reason I am asking is while I do the design I want to refer to a brand and particular standard which is eat and a few fitting list covers my whole requirements. So that I don't spend too much time just going through hundreds of pages of fitting catalogues. I am looking for a particular standard and brand for ease of reference and availability. Thanks in advance.

RE: Hydraulic fittings

I think for US you need to have NPT,
For Europe BSP, and for Japan JIC.

RE: Hydraulic fittings

No NPT above 10K per API. Refer to API 6A for high pressure threaded connections, they resemble the autoclave style of connections and are available from at least three sources.

Stick with JIC and o-ring straight thread.

Hi All,

Thanks for the suggestions. I was also trying to go for JIC and stick to that standard. We have used Autoclave in the past, so will refer to that as well. Thanks once again. I will move on with JIC.

Regards,

HD
