super duplex galling

(OP)
Hello everybody,

I have an issue with a superduplex device. The item is operated by a bolt also in super duplex. When I tried to actuate the mechanism the bolt got stuck inside the thread, most likely it was galling.

do you have any idea for removing the bolt without destroying the equipment?

Thanks

Best regards,

NB

RE: super duplex galling

Penetrating oil may help. Cooling bolt and heating internal threads may work too.

tryed but didn't work...

RE: super duplex galling

EDM the bolt out.
They should have used a cold worked Ni alloy bolt.
And the should have rolled both the ID and OD threads.
As long as there is no H2S I would also silver plate them.
