Does anybody know how to find or calculate the specific heat capacity of 50% Methanol 50% Water mixture? I have a chiller running at -40°F and I need the thermodynamic properties to calculate the load.

Thanks

I think that the formula is:
(Cp)mixt= ((Cp*M)methanol+(Cp*M)water)/ (Mmethanaol+Mwater); M stands for mass.

Much appreciated!
Thanks!

Simple rule of mixtures may not be terribly accurate for a non-ideal mixture.

Try to do a web search for this data...often data like this is already published
