Hello everyone,

I am trying to calculate the shear center of a tee section, does anybody have the formulas for both axis??

If it's a commonly proportioned symmetrical Tee, the shear centre should be at the intersection I think.

That is correct for one axis, what about the other axis?

I think that shear centre is one of them axis independent section properties. Same answer both ways. I don't think that symmetry is even required.

"y0 is ybar-tf/2" ... that`s not how I read the Roark article. I think it says what the first response said (at the intersection).

if y is measured from the remote surface, then tf/2 would be the middle of the flange.

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?

So the shear center is at the intermediate of flange thickness which is tf/2, what I was looking for was the y0 which is the distance between shear center and centroid. Therefore I put y0 is ybar-tf/2, not correct?
