Copy and paste component to work layer?
Copy and paste component to work layer?
(OP)
Is there a way to copy and paste components to a work layer? Currently pasting always uses the layer of the copied component even if my work layer is different. I looked in the docs but was unable to find anything.

the only issue would be the copied component would be directly on top of the original
but not too big of a problem

I sent my last post before I saw your reply. What I'm looking for is to place more of the same component on the work layer immediately. Are the components listed in the ANT chronologically as they are added to the assembly? If that is the case then I could select them from the ANT to move to another layer. If I cannot do that then I will have drafting issues because I may already have drawings of the previous components.

And what version of NX are you running as we now (staring with NX 9.0) provide options in how the Assembly Navigator is sorted.

I looked into docs and have a question. Are arrangements intended solely for alternate positioning configurations? I really need, for example, 10 components shown simultaneously in different locations and orientations in an assembly. In this case should I be using arrangements or multiple components?

to me it's just a faster way of adding multiple components. ( which i have to move as soon as pasted.)
