Edit Expression Units in NX 8.5

Edit Expression Units in NX 8.5

(OP)
I am trying to change a "Length" to a "Constant" in Expressions without going back and deleting all the dependencies and redoing everything. I find when I highlite and parameter that is already accepted I can only go back and change the Length to another unit(mm, ft, etc.) not its function(Constant, Angle, etc.).

RE: Edit Expression Units in NX 8.5

This is by design as 'dimensionality' is what it is. It cannot be changed once it has been accepted.

RE: Edit Expression Units in NX 8.5

I appreciate there's a need for having a "type", but it sure would be nice if there was an option that ALL expressions could be defaulted to Constant.

RE: Edit Expression Units in NX 8.5

Why did you want to change the 'type' of an expression?

If you were trying to get a 'unitless' value your best course of action would be to create another expression of type 'Constant' and set it equal to the expression of interest and then use that expression where you need a 'unitless' value.
