drafting export to pdf - quality
(OP)
Hello,
When I export drafting to pdf, the result is not good enough. The main problem is that circles are not round. So people come and ask me, this hole is round or polygon? I attached 2 pictures, first is print screen from nx drafting, second is print screen from PDF. Do You have any suggestions how to solve this problem?
With best regards
Michael

For best results, export from a drawing sheet.

Printing from NX is a screendump and if you "pipe" that into a pdf -file, your pdf will contain a screendump. Raster data not vectors.
Exporting an pdf will create a vectorized pdf.
( Plotting from NX is also exact, vectors.)

I don't have NX up and running and you didn't specify a version, but I know in NX9 there were some Visualization Preferences added (maybe in NX8 or NX8.5) that if not properly set will cause the display to appear as if it needs refreshed - the Facet Preferences. I'm sure cowski knows where this is located and can explain in more detail if he's still around. Unfortunately, I'm on my way out of the office as I type this.
My point being that I'm curious if this will overlap into PDFs in any way. That's where I'd look first.

If they are round, then something is going wrong between the conversion from plot output to pdf file. If they are polygonal, then something is wrong with the plot output.

Returning to main problem, why after exporting to pdf file I get polygonal circles? Do You encounter similar problem on Your configuration? Maybe there is some option of in NX? Now I'm Working on NX 8.5.3 MP06. Tomorrow, when I will be at work, I will check if problem also exists on NX 9.

This is the main problem, plotting and pdf output are closely related. You have one or more problems with your plot/pdf setup - as futher evidenced by the fact that your current plotter isn't working and you never got the epson set up correctly...
I don't think there is any option within the NX export pdf dialog that will fix your problem; my best guess is a plotter setup problem. Unfortunately, I don't often work with plotter setup/admin so I can't really say where to go from here.
No, circles in pdf output are circular.

There are different view representations in NX9. I was able to replicate your problem exporting to a PDF if the views were 'Smart Lightweight' (see image).
If you change the view type to 'Exact' what happens? In my test the result for the PDF was perfect, but when set to 'Smart Lightweight' I was getting the faceting occurring.

Customer Defaults -> Gateway -> Plotting -> General
...about 60% down the page. If it's not set to 0.001 try setting it to that value, hit OK, restart NX and then try exporting another PDF file.

JohnRBaker I did what You wrote and It's helped. I had this tolerance value set to 0,01, after setting it to 0,01 the problem was solved. Now when I export to pdf the circles are round.
PhoeNX, I tried Your suggestion, but We have different options in this menu. Look at attached picture.
thanks everybody for support
