Galvanized fasteners standard

Galvanized fasteners standard

(OP)
Hello.

We are working on an industrial steel structure and we have received a batch of GI fasteners. We required samples to be tested but the third-party testing laboratory is asking that we specify what standard the samples are to be tested with. Can somebody help me determine the best applicable standard?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you PSEPK. It was helpful. We are in the middle east by the way and I am confident US design code was not utilized.

We were advised to refer to BS 7371 or BS EN ISO 1461 since the technical contract specifies to consult relevant British standard in case no standard is mentioned.

Follow-up query: Should I suggest to use ASTM? I'm quite sure that the local third party labs can perform ASTM tests. Can you please brief me about "compatibilities" of standards with design codes used.
