Standard welded Fitting in Pressure vessel
(OP)
When the standard b 16.9 fitting has long seams, for using such a standard Fitting in Pressure vessel,is it required for the pressure vessel manufacturer to obtain the WPS and PQR and get it reviewed by AI and include in the final dossier, also is PQR for the fitting required to take into account the possible PWHT cycle that the fitting may under go during PWHT of the vessel. If Fitting PQR is required to take care of future PWHTs, then how many cycles are required to be considered from ASME Sec VIII Div 1 point of view (not from any client specification please).
A) Fitting is A 234 WPB
B) fitting is A 420 WPL 6

RE: Standard welded Fitting in Pressure vessel
WPS used must have been qualified with the PWHT cycle for the vessel. PWHT time at temperature is a supplementary essential variable and if impact tests are not required, PWHT time is not a variable.
Future PWHT during service are not addressed by Section VIII Division 1.
You will need to obtain the radiographs from fitting manufacturer
Records are required to be retained as required by App 10-13 (pressure part documentation and certification)
Ofcourse you should discuss with your AI
