Callout display a [...] in parts list
Callout display a [...] in parts list
(OP)
Hi there,
Discovery/Learning the Parts List feature (Inside TC).
I'am now able to select component I'd like to see / not see in the table.
I know how to select the fileds / attributes I want. Good.
The "CallOut" thing is still obscur.
Are they randomly chosen ?
How to re-attribute them ?
I've find a way by editing component attributes at the assembly level, seams to work.
Now, for item that are used several times (washers, nuts, screws), NX shows a [...] instead of the callout.
Sounds logical since each of the 4 washers have it's own callout, and therefor 4 values to display in a single cell.
When we manually override a cell content, [] are then added. It there a was to hide this ?
Thank you.

To fix this go to the Assy Nav and make sure to select all of the instances of the problem item (that is calling out [...])so then highlight then right click > properties > Attributes : -CALLOUT is then listed in the dialogue box you can see. Then hightlight the CALLOUT item and change the value you see in the value box. When you hit OK the all callouts will update for all instances of the item in the assembly.
Might be that the parts list table is not changed after changing in the attributes box, but if you select the whole parts list table and do a right click update then the {...} should change to be the correst callout number you set it to be.
As far as the original callout convention goes I'm not sure on the logic. Maybe goes by the order you assebled the components into the assembly. Most times you will have to go in and mess around with it to get it looking straight.

RE: Callout display a [...] in parts list
If I define my own attribute, at ASM level, for each component, to display item N°
I can make the parts list to me sorted according to it.
But, how then make it be used by the ID symbol ? (which by default display the "Callout" thing.)

RE: Callout display a [...] in parts list
Either you let NX set/ assign the Callout, OR you manually set each ID. ( The later is not that tempting if you have large assemblies.)
If you let NX assign the Callout, it is as simple as the sorting of the Partslist which gives the ID.
I.e if you sort column x: A-Z and Column Y etc your callouts will follow.
As soon as the callout has been created , you can manually override the ID, which will both update TC and the partslist.
We have very large assemblies so we don't really want to assign the callout manually.
We have had discussions if we should create a more advanced sorting mechanism in teamcenter such that , for example manufactured inhouse should be reported before bought components etc and then push these Callouts to NX but as said, only discussions so far.

You can then set your parts list to use that attribute for the callouts.

It's possible to us almost any attribute so I also show using the partname.
