Hi all,

I have to estimate the argon gas consumption for a pressure vessel of ss304L having a dia of 1m and height 1.98m. Total weld length will be almost 9 m (6mm Thick) What will be the argon gas consumption during the welding.? (Cylinder Wise) (Excluding purging)

Please help

RE: Calculate Argon gas consumption in ss 304 welding (6mm Thick Shell for pressure vessels

how long will you be welding?
argon flow is measured in cu f/h or litres/minute, value should be around 15-20 cf/h or 7-10 l/min (I'm thinking TIG or GTAW here).

time x argon flow = total volume of Ar consumed.
