Layers Visible in View

Layers Visible in View

Layers Visible in View

(OP)
Is it possible to use this feature on multiple views at once? It allows me to select all the views, but when I make specific layers visible/invisible and apply, it only works on the original view, not the projected or section views.

Also I've tried selecting the entire sheet, that doesn't work either. I was hoping it was just a bug in NX8.5 but we've upgraded to 9 and still no joy. Now I'm just thinking I'm doing something wrong or it just isn't possible.

Thanks in advance
Joe

RE: Layers Visible in View

Layer V-I-V can only be applied to one view at a time and very hard to reset to the original setting.

RE: Layers Visible in View

While you do have to apply it separately to the views, it is not so difficult to reset.
If you hit OK instead of Cancel, you lock the visibility as set (usually the intent with drawing views), but if Cancel is used instead it just resets the view to the current settings, with no layers locked... at least it works that way for me (I have yet to see it in the documentation anywhere).

RE: Layers Visible in View

When you turn on the VIV window, if you select the view on the screen, it will change right to the layers available. But if you select the view from the list, it will only high-light the view border. Then you can simply click "Reset to Global" to set the layers to the same as Layer Settings. So if your layer settings has all layers visible, you will make the view layers with all layers visible.

So if I choose which LVIV I want for the original view and THEN do my sections/projections, all is well? I will give it a try, though I'm not sure what the point of being able to select multiple views while having the VIV dialogue box up is if it doesn't apply the visible/invisible selections to all the views I selected :/

Thanks Again!

RE: Layers Visible in View

if a view is created as a projection from another view the new projected view will have the same visible in view settings as the original view
