Is there any standards or conventions for external wiring of quadruple rated three phase motors with 9 leads?
It is about one voltage multi mode winding connected in four ways ( delta, wye, combined delta-wye etc) in order to get four different values of torque.

RE: Quadruple Rated 3ph Motors

Hello Zlatkodo,

The electric motors leads most be marked according to NEMA Stds. MG 1 or IEC 60034-8 wichever is applicable. In case of multi mode winding connections the motor manufacturer will mark the leads according to the place of the world where be manufactured or according to the place where the motor will be installed and most provide a nameplate( plate or print) indicating correct connections.

Regards

Carlos

RE: Quadruple Rated 3ph Motors

I am wondering about your motor and how you can get that flexibility with 9 leads. I would expect 12 leads. I was unable to locate that motor in the link that you have provided. For my education, can you post a link to a vector sketch of the motor in question. (Or a hint as to how to locate it in the link that you have posted.
Thanks

Bill

Thanks, Carlos,
That wiring I already have.
Attached photo shows a little different wiring (transcribed from the plate of the 6 pole GE motor).
Does anyone know more about it?

Thank you very much petroila. Am I corre ct in assuming that the tap connections, 4-5-6, are not center taps but are offset?
Thanks again.
