Can we use PD 5500 for LPG road tankers?

Can we use PD 5500 for LPG road tankers?

Can we use PD 5500 for LPG road tankers?

Can you please guide if it is allowed to manufacture LPG road tankers on PD 5500? Its clause 1.1.4 (e) put the road moving pressure tanks in exclusion. But many companies around the world are manufacturing on it.

RE: Can we use PD 5500 for LPG road tankers?

Ukmet:
PD5500 is a basic code/std. for unfired pressure vessels, right? Probably a pretty good std. of practice (for design and fabrication) for many different pressure vessels, and a basic reference for many more detailed/ specific codes/stds. Then, the exceptions/exclusions, etc. probably have to do with the over-the-road transit, Dept. of Transportation (DOT) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), or your variation of those agencies. That’s where I’d start looking. Maybe ask some of your competitors or clients what specs./codes/stds. apply to this type of equipment.

true. let it be like this "what standard should we follow for manufacture of lpg road tankers"

RE: Can we use PD 5500 for LPG road tankers?

Why not use BS EN 12493: 2013 - Welded steel pressure vessels for LPG road tankers, Design and manufacture??

Seem ideal
