Add NX 9.0 FEM environment for LS DYNA

Add NX 9.0 FEM environment for LS DYNA

(OP)
Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how to use LS DYNA solver from within NX? I am trying but it says that "LS-DYNA executable is not at the location specified by the environment variable".

How do I change the environment variables?

Thanks in advance.

RE: Add NX 9.0 FEM environment for LS DYNA

I'm not an expert of CAE, but you can set where the LS DYNA solver is in the customer defaults, see the attached image (File -> Utilities -> Customer Defaults).
If you tick the box, it will try and use the variable UGII_LSDYNA, if you untick, you specify the location of the solver by browsing.

If you want to use the variable, tick the box, then
Windows Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings (Upper left) -> Environment Variables

Create a user variable called UGII_LSDYNA and the value should be the path to the LS DYNA solver executable.
