V4 to V5 conversion problem finding hole centers

V4 to V5 conversion problem finding hole centers

(OP)
I converted a v4 model to a V5 catpart using the PLMV4toV5 migration utility. When I measure or dimension CATIA does not recognize the hole centers or radii. It appears the holes are just line segments. Is there a way to improve the solids so either CATIA or our cam software Mastecam can recognize the center points.

RE: V4 to V5 conversion problem finding hole centers

Be sure your settings are "AS SPEC" instead of "AS RESULT".
"AS SPEC" = as specifed by geometric definition, I.E.: a round hole will come accross as a round hole instead of polylines, if it was defined that way.
"AS RESULT" = as the end result, which is polyline defined solids in most cases.
That doesn't work on all V4 models, but it will on most.
Run a test both ways and look at holes and shafts and see if they are segmented.
If the "AS SPEC" doesn't fix it, then you have to remodel on top of the incoming V4 model, as FERDO suggested.
