Volume calculation Volume calculation Rafazaratin (Civil/Environmental) (OP) 13 Nov 14 19:27 Please , what is the best way to calculate the volume of my terrain... Tanks!😄 RE: Volume calculation MEM1 (Civil/Environmental) 14 Nov 14 18:02 Little more information would be helpful. What software do you have? Are you wanting to determine volumes between an existing surface and a proposed surface? Are you wanting to know the volume of a pond in your terrain. Need to know what you are trying to achieve. RE: Volume calculation Rafazaratin (Civil/Environmental) (OP) 15 Nov 14 12:09 sorry, what is the best software for the calculation of volumes? RE: Volume calculation MEM1 (Civil/Environmental) 15 Nov 14 20:17 I use autocad civil 3d. It is pricey but does the job. Might be something out there cheaper. Civil 3D can calculate earthwork volumes based on surface comparisons, cross sections and others. It will also calculate pond volumes based on contour surface areas. But again it is pricey. 8000 - 9000 US dollars. RE: Volume calculation Rafazaratin (Civil/Environmental) (OP) 16 Nov 14 10:29 perfect, thank you so much! RE: Volume calculation brandonbw (Civil/Environmental) 20 Nov 14 11:47 Land Desktop can do it too. Civil 3D is a beast to learn quickly. Hand calculations can be useful as it puts you in the ballpark.
