Pump Selection Meeting NSPS OOOO standard of 2000 PPM

(OP)
Hello,

I have application for Hydrocarbon service for Gas Plant. I know it is reciprocating Pump based on 20 gpm and 900 psid Pressure. but there is requirement imposed on it 2000 ppm to meet leak standard. i am not sure any recip will meet that one! Temp= 54 °F , SG=0.62, Viscosity =0.2 cP Vapor Pressure =64.0 psia and NPSHA= 6 ft . Any suggestion who make low emission pumps....

RE: Pump Selection Meeting NSPS OOOO standard of 2000 PPM

We have two sets of reciprocating pumps in LDAR (VOC) service that are able to meet our monitoring limits of 1000 ppm. All of these pumps use an oil pressurized mechanical packing arrangement. I am not aware of any problems with these pumps. The pumps were manufactured by Union Pump. They are model SMC 8x10x20 and use their "Uni-Lok III Stuffing Box" to achieve the emissions limits. Unfortunately, the smallest version that they make is still much too large for your application. Your application looks like a better fit for a screw pump with a dual mechanical seal.
