Flexicore Information
Flexicore Information
(OP)
Does anyone have any information on Flexicore from the 1970's? A copy of the Flexicore Technical Design Handbook or design tables would be awesome. I have an existing building that is being remodeled and plans show that B29 and B58 Flexicore was used. Thanks!

RE: Flexicore Information
B29 & B58 sound like piece marks, not design designations.

Make sure you identify the actual width of the Flexicore planks. In the 1970's there many plants that still produced or had inventories of the 16" wide planks instead of the 24" wide ones that were being touted at the time. You should be able to get some/engineer) information that you could use for the narrow ones since the width and core arrangements are modular) - the 16" wide were preferred for many types of projects because of smooth bottom finish (think of typical motel with short spans that were just painted/sprayed) or the weight and ease or erection, using more available equipment.
