Bid Estimator?

Bid Estimator?

Bid Estimator?

(OP)
Does anyone have a good reference location for estimating industrial jobs for say budgetary quotes? HVAC duct additions/Relocation, install piping of different sizes, installing pumps, etc?

RE: Bid Estimator?

Way back when, there were cost estimating books from R S Means for general construction work, and googling that pulls up a website application for them. I have no idea of the utility of it, or whether it would help in your situation.

I would expect some of this to be guesswork on the part of the estimator and/or proprietary information.

On something somewhat standardized like, say, installing piping in a house, you should be able to find and/or generate fairly good data. On a one-off type job, doing modifications or repairs, for example, not so much, and you can expect larger variations in how things get estimated and done.

Thanks for the info. My application will be all industrial. I had found one for some HVAC work like moving ductwork and running duct per foot. I was hoping for a quick cheat sheet somewhere for by the foot or unit. Sometimes management requests numbers faster than I can get a contractor out to quote. I have seen a few books and thinking about buying one. Thanks again.
