Flame Cutting of Rolled and Welded NACE cylinders
Flame Cutting of Rolled and Welded NACE cylinders
(OP)
Hello. I have a supplier that intends to flame cut plates for rolled and welded cylinders for a NACE application. Would the ends and the longitudinal bevel of these cylinders need grinding to remove the heat affected zone? Does anyone know how NACE cylinders are generally manufactured?
Thanks,

I would not classify "as flame-cut" as one of these conditions from a microstructure standpoint. So yes, for this standard removal of the HAZ would be required. In fact, I'd recommend removal of the HAZ for any sour service (not knowing any more than you've stated).
