Deselect all of intent setting

Deselect all of intent setting

Deselect all of intent setting

(OP)
We just upgraded to NX-9 and I've noticed I'm no longer able to deselect "all of intent" any longer. For example, when I'm doing edge blends with the "tangent curves" setting, if I select a chain of edges that it's unable to blend, when I press Shift to deselect them, it only deselects the one segment instead of the whole thing. In previous versions of NX, it would deselect the entire chain (but not ALL the edges). I can't find anything in the settings or preferences to fix this, any suggestions?

RE: Deselect all of intent setting

This was discussed recently in another thread (link provided below), but to cut to the chase, if you go to...

Customer Defaults -> Gateway -> General -> Selection

...you'll find an option that controls the 'Deselect All of Intent' behavior.

Ah, awesome, thank you for the help and sorry for not searching the forums more thoroughly. Thanks!

RE: Deselect all of intent setting

I noticed one particular case where this option does not work.
Go into sketch, select with an intent come chain of curves, and make a mirror curve operation. Then go into editing of the mirror curve operation, and try to deselect the chain. It will deselect one single curve a time, not the entire intent - regardless of the mentioned setting in the defaults.

Sounds like we missed one. Please contact GTAC and have them open an IR/PR covering this issue.

RE: Deselect all of intent setting

JohnRBaker,
I am experiencing some difficulties in order to find the "all of intent" option. I am already on "gateway" but the "selection preferences" menu is not showing that option. This is what it is showing:
Multi-select:
Mosture Gesture
Selection Rule
Highlight:
Highlight Selection on rollover
Rollover delay
Highlight with thick width
Highlight hidden edges
Highlight original
Shaded views
Face analysis Views
QuickPick
Quickpick on delay
Delay
Lock Dialog position
Cursor:
Selection Radius
Show Crosshairs
Chaning:
Tolerance
Method
Sorry for too much wording, I cannot share images, and I just wanted to show how this menu looks like, there is no "all of intent" option. Where can I find it?

RE: Deselect all of intent setting

What you've described are the contents of the 'Selection' Preferences dialog. What I gave directions to in my 7 Nov 14 9:47 posting was to where this is controlled in CUSTOMER DEFAULTS.
