Dimension scale problem
Dimension scale problem
(OP)
In UG NX 8.5.1.3 I have created a drawing with a view of .50 scale
Using ordinate dimensions, they are coming out at half scale.
Meaning that a 10.0 dimension is showing 5.0
If I use a regular Inferred Dimension, it shows the proper dimension.
The dimension text, arrow size and all that are the correct size, just the dimension is wrong.
Is there some kind of dimension scale factor I don't know about?
Never seen this before.
Thanks in advance

RE: Dimension scale problem
I'm not sure this is the cause of your problem, but it may play a part.

RE: Dimension scale problem
That being said, it shouldn't make any difference. All dimensions on a Drawing are based on the actual size of the model and has nothing to do with the scale of the views nor that of the Drawing sheet.

RE: Dimension scale problem
In a D size drawing, a 36" plate is too big to show at 1:1 so I scale the views to a size that fits.
Might be multiple views with different scales.
Yes John, I thought it dimension to the model size also.
But my question is still "Is there some kind of dimension scale factor I don't know about?"

Thank you all.

RE: Dimension scale problem
I place crossing 2D centerlines in the view (rectangular plate)
Placing the ordinate 0-0 at the crossing point of the centerlines, freezes the software for 3-4 minutes and when it returns, my BOM has been reduced to 1 line with all components.
Also when I put an inferred dimension from one of the centerlines to an object, it freezes and my BOM disappears.
This is not operator error.
AND my Feature Parameters does not work for the screw holes I have in the views.
Unfortunately I do not have the ability to contact GTAC for support.
I know it sounds crazy, but it is what it is.
I have tried it on different computers and get the same results with this file, and I just found out that other operators have seen similar things.
Only happens sporadically, but it has happened before. That is why John cannot reproduce it.
Once it is in a file, it stays in the file and causes problems.
It all seems to be related to the 2D centerlines.
Thank you gentlemen.
