Methanol Tank Materials of Construction

For a 9000 gallon methanol tank located at an oil & gas facility, what materials are recommended and why? We are considering carbon steel, or coated carbon steel. Apologies for the simple question - I am not a materials engineer.

RE: Methanol Tank Materials of Construction

ISO 21457 offers the option of carbon steel or 316 (L) stainless steel. Selection of the latter is normally down to product purity requirements for the stored methanol.
