Sketch Text Reference Issue

Sketch Text Reference Issue

(OP)
All,

I have a bit of an issue with 'Text' feature of the Sketch editor that I'm hoping I can get some insight on.

So, my company recently upgraded to Solidworks 2014 and I have been spending the better part of the last few days making updates to old part files, some of which includes changing some text that is part of an 'Extruded Cut' operation for identification purposes. The issue I'm having is that anytime I try to update the text in the operation, I loose the rounds in the text lettering that was there prior. When updating the text, the text changes to a similar font, but without the rounds. After talking with the engineers that worked on the parts initially, they tell me there was no 'Fillet' feature used and that the text rounds were controlled with the font itself.
This leads me to believe that there was a font used in a prior version that is no longer available in the 2014 version and the reference is gone. If anyone has had a similar issue or has any insight, help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Sketch Text Reference Issue

I believe the fonts that SolidWorks uses are simply your system fonts, not SolidWorks specific. I'm betting you can find a font with the rounds that you need.

I agree with Jeff. You can copy the fonts you need from the coworker's PC (C:\Windows\fonts).
