Colored faces in Drawing

Colored faces in Drawing

Colored faces in Drawing

(OP)
Hi everybody,

tomorow i puted here some thema about shading drawing view, but my question was maybe to much tight.

http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=374371

From another look, i wanna have colored faces of part in drawing view. Is here, in NX, more functions or posibilities how can be it solved?

Thak you for answer.

Best regards
Graviant Lokimovic

RE: Colored faces in Drawing

what version of NX are you on?

RE: Colored faces in Drawing

(OP)
Im using the NX 9.0.2.5.
What i know about NX, it doesnt matter which version is, if it is over NX4.

Thank you for interess.

Thank you jerry1423,

but this setting brings shading view with one or two direct light. It causes on various places of shape that color change itself from lighter to darker.

Is possible to make color in one tone?

I am afraid that no.

RE: Colored faces in Drawing

From Jerry's image tick off the two sided light and set the shininess to 0.
That's the closest you will get. otherwise you will need to screen capture in modeling, save the image and insert that image into the drawing.

With shiness i did, unfortunatly it doesnt produce one tone color. In middle of part is color lighter as on sides.

The screen capture i probed also, it has no such quality for drawing and muss it connect together with car meassure grid. It is hard.

I dont understand why is possible to set up light in 3D but it is in drawing take over with additional lights which were not required.

RE: Colored faces in Drawing

I think I can help you more with this but I won't be back at my CAD terminal until next week

wow, it rings as good news. i will be looking forward.

RE: Colored faces in Drawing

Is this the sort of image 'quality' that you're looking for?

If so, this image was created with what's called a 'Cartoon' rendering style using the Artistic Image function available as part of the NX Studio license. Of course you would then have to include the 'shaded view' on your drawing as an image file and not as a true 'shaded drawing view'.

Thank you John for your answer,

unfortunatly this NX studio licence i dont have. Same what you wrote, it doesnt help. Over view muss be maked messure grid and each point muss agree with 3D data. With screen capture it will be it hard to reach.

But i am able maked this sort of coloring in 3D. When in Advance Lights function i let only Ambiente light.

I mean, problem for me is inside NX. When there is setting of lights in Advance Lights, why by taking over it is adding one or two lights more as was requiring. This is base question. Propably it has some reason, for me bring it only complications.

You could cross hatch using a very small spacing and a color you want.

RE: Colored faces in Drawing

Use 'Area Fill' instead of Crosshathcing.

Here is a little more for you.

To get the color of the solid on the drawing view to be the same as the color of the model you need to get into the menu (under view prefernces) where you specify the color of the shaded item and also the color of the visible lines menu and click on the deselect all icon as shown in the attached picture1, then press OK.

Now that the shaded image is on the drawing shown with the model colors shown, you can also change the color of the solid face using view dependent editing and the edit shaded objects icon.

Hello,

befor lot of thanks for your help.

For few days I got answer on my problem. Now i know NX can make flat shaded view, as John said right "Cartoon rendering style", in drawing view. But is necessary to use "Basic Lights" function instead of "Advanced Lights". Then it will be taking over the setting of 3D-view to drawing view.

Best Regards
