direct analysis method, aisc example C, with staad pro

(OP)
actually, it was issued long time ago, but I still couldn't fine the exact solution(results) matching with aisc example with Staad pro.
does anyone has staad pro files (input command files) of aisc example C.1A,C.1B, C.1C?
Thank you for reading btw.

RE: direct analysis method, aisc example C, with staad pro

Make sure to check p little delta, don't check p delta converge instead do enough iterations that you can see the solution converge

RE: direct analysis method, aisc example C, with staad pro

Staad.pro wont do the reduced EI required by direct analysis unless you specifically have the update which does that. I believe this update was in Staad.Pro 2007, there's a video online describing it. Otherwise, you can conservatively design it using reduced EI for not only the secondary effects analysis (P-delta) but the elastic analysis as well.

Attached are several STAAD files from my own analysis as well as a RISA run in an attempt to verify STAAD output. I was trying to work through some discrepancies with the examples at the time, so I can not guarantee that the frames still match the example exactly. See the following thread concerning the accuracy of the examples
